POLK COUNTY, FL — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will host a news conference at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss three investigations for crimes that took place over the New Year's holiday.

A drive-by shooting occurred during the early morning hours of Monday in the Highland Park Manor subdivision on Laura Street in unincorporated Lake Wales that resulted in serious injuries to a person inside a house.

Another drive-by shooting occurred during the early morning hours of Monday in Lake Pierce Ranchettes in unincorporated Lake Wales during which two people in a home were injured.

Judd will also fill reporters in on the burglary of a vacant home in Poinciana in which one of the people accused of burglary called 911 to ask for help moving items out of the vacant home.
