Publix, Winn-Dixie Christmas 2016 Store Hours

Floridians who find themselves short on items for their holiday dinners will be out of luck if their stores of choice happen to be Publix or Winn-Dixie. Both chains have announced their intention to stay closed on Christmas Day.

Both chains have also announced plans to observe special hours on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. The early closings are intended to ensure employees get a chance to spend time with their families, spokespeople for both chains said.

Here’s what to expect from each grocery chain on Saturday, Dec. 24:

Publix

All Publix stores in Florida will open at regular hours on Christmas Eve. They will, however, close their doors at 7 p.m.

Winn-Dixie Stores

Florida Winn-Dixie locations will open at normal times Christmas Eve, but they’ll close down for the holiday starting at 9 p.m.
