Appointments for the first week of the vaccine rollout quickly filled up at the health departments. Registration has temporarily been closed to seniors since Tuesday evening in areas such as Polk, Pinellas and Hillsborough.
Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke at a press conference Wednesday in Miami and said that next week Florida is expected to receive 250,000 vaccine doses. There will be an even count between Moderna and Pfizer.

Polk County Department of Health has requested that residents not call the COVID-19 Information Center for information about the vaccines at this time. The increase in calls has caused their phone system to shut down when they have been trying to answer other questions related to the coronavirus.
"We will be opening another round of registrations this Friday for COVID-19 vaccination appointments next week," the department said. "More information on how to register will be provided soon. Please continue to monitor this website for updates on how to do so."
