Star Student: Lakeland 8th-Grader Always Thinks Outside The Box

LAKELAND, FL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Ruth Smith who nominated her granddaughter, Cadance, an eighth-grader in Lakeland.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

She has excelled in everything she does since pre-kindergarten, has been in gifted classes literally since Day One. She loves reading, musicals, golfing, dirt bike-riding, she is smart beyond her years and talented in many ways. She always thinks outside the box and is always up for new challenges.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She excels in everything she does and is wise beyond her years.
