Thieves Steal Deliveryman's Wallet Outside Polk County Restaurant

Thieves helped themselves to a deliveryman's wallet and cellphone in recent days while his truck was parked outside a restaurant.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Thieves helped themselves to a deliveryman's wallet and cellphone in recent days while his truck was parked outside the Harborside Restaurant in Winter Haven.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding two men who may have information on the case.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver was making a delivery to the restaurant.

"As he returned to his truck, he saw two men walking nearby, and thought they were acting oddly," the sheriff's office explained. "Then the victim noticed his wallet and cellphone were missing from his truck."

The sheriff's office said that the driver spotted the same two men running in the distance.

"Now our detectives are trying to identify these two guys so they can speak with them to determine if they did, or did not have anything to do with the theft," explained the sheriff's office.
