DAVENPORT, FL — Thousand Oaks Boulevard near Oak Leigh Court in Davenport will be closed for two weeks of emergency repairs already underway to fix a sewer line damaged by a boring project to install new fiber optic cabling.

Sewer service is being provided with a bypass system and access to homes will be maintained during repairs. Traffic is being detoured along Ronald Reagan Parkway and Old Lake Wilson Road to avoid the work zone.

Thousand Oaks Boulevard is a well-traveled north-south alternate to Lake Wilson Road between Ronald Reagan Parkway and the Polk-Osceola County Line Road. Lake Wilson Road is also under construction with a Polk County widening project. Backups and travel delays are expected, especially during weekday peak-hour traffic. Commuters should drive with caution, follow detour signs, and add extra time to trips in this area.
