Wildlife Underpass In Polk County To Keep Animals Safe: FDOT
The wildlife construction project will help keep animals off Interstate-4 in Polk County.
LAKELAND, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Wildlife Corridor have partnered together to help protect wildlife from getting hit by vehicles on Interstate-4, a news release said.
FDOT is building an underpass On I-4 near State Road 557 in Polk County, FDOT said.
The underpass will go under I-4 and help animals get back to their habitats. A 10-foot-high fence will help guide animals away from the interstate, according to Florida Wildlife Corridor.
