Winter Haven Pastor Accused Of Sexual Battery On A Child

WINTER HAVEN, FL - A Winter Haven pastor is being accused of sexual battery on a child, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The pastor has been identified as David Cooper, who preaches at Mountain Movers Ministries near Winter Haven.

The pastor was charged Thursday with one count of sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 years old and one count of lewd exhibition. Authorities say Cooper did not meet his victims at church.

Last September, deputies responded to Winter Haven Hospital regarding a possible sexual abuse of a girl under 12. The girl said that Cooper had exposed himself to her on four occasions over the past year.

Detectives later learned that there was a second victim. The woman, who is now an adult, said that Cooper sexually abused her numerous times when she was a child. She said Cooper had sex with her at least five times between the ages of 10 to 12-years-old.
