Woman Killed In Apparent Hit-And-Run Crash

LAKELAND, FL —The westbound lanes of U.S. 92 East from Reynolds Road to Saddle Creek Park Road were shut down Sunday morning as the Polk County Sheriff's Office investigated what officials were calling an apparent hit-and-run fatality.

"The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the suspicious death of an adult female found laying in the median of roadway on US Hwy 92 West in Lakeland," explained Carrie Horstman of the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

She said the Traffic Unit and Homicide Unit were both on the scene as westbound traffic remained shut down.
