2 Arrested After Attempted Robbery, High Speed Pursuit
A thwarted robbery and possible drug deal at a Land O' Lakes Publix ends with chase into Hernando County.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two suspects in an attempted robbery Thursday at the Publix on U.S. 41 in Land O' Lakes, according to a media alert.
"Preliminary information indicates it could be a drug deal gone bad," the alert stated.
A man and a woman were arrested, but their names are not available yet, Pasco Sheriff's Office spokesman Kevin Doll said.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspects used a gun in the Publix parking lot in the robbery attempt, but were thwarted, and fled north on U.S. 41.
Deputies pursued the suspects, who were eventually stopped in Hernando County.

The pursuing deputies said over the radio they were traveling at speeds around 100 mph, Hernando Today reported.
A gun and "possible drugs" were recovered, the alert stated.
There were no injuries in the attempted robbery or pursuit, according to the sheriff's office.
