2 Land O’ Lakes Home Burglaries Under Investigation

Pasco County deputies say two side-by-side townhomes were broken into Tuesday.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two residential burglaries that occurred during the daytime hours Tuesday.

According to the agency, two connected townhomes in the 2900 block of Lochcarron Drive were broken into sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 11. In the first break-in, the burglar or burglars forced open the front door and then proceeded to pry open a safe inside the home.

The safe, the sheriff’s office said, contained two guns, $600 in cash and a ring valued at $600. After taking the cash and jewelry and leaving the guns behind, the person or people responsible for the crime left via the back sliding glass door. At the next home, the burglar or burglars used a dumbbell swiped from the first home to break the sliding glass door on the second, an email from the agency said.

A jewelry box with an estimated $4,000 in jewelry was taken from the second home.

Deputies say jewelry and cash were the targeted items in the two cases. A new GoPro camera, MacBook Pro, credit cards and other more expensive items, including the guns found in the safe were left behind.
