A Magic Cure Benefit

The nonprofit Children’s Cancer Research Group is counting on a bit of magic to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.

To raise funds for the research group, the cancer advocacy organization, 1Voice Foundation, will host A Magic Cure Benefit featuring international illusionist Reynold Alexander at The Ritz Ybor on Saturday, March 1.

Alexander has performed his mind-boggling illusions in more than 20 countries, capturing the imaginations of magic aficionados with his re-enactment of Harry Houdini’s Water Torture Cell in which he is handcuffed and locked upside down in a water tank.

Alexander’s acclaim has spread following the recent airing of the television special, “Magia Extrema,” in the United States and Puerto Rico.

A Magic Cure Benefit is open to the general public and is suitable for ages 6 and up. Doors will open for VIP ticket holders at 4:30 p.m. to enjoy complimentary beer, wine hors d’oeurvres, photos with the star and a silent auction. A limited number of VIP tickets are now on sale for $100.

The general public will be admitted starting at 5 p.m. and the show will get underway at 6 p.m.

General admission tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children age 10 and under, not including service fees.
