Accused Shoplifter Busted After Returning to Walmart

He managed to leave the store two days earlier without paying for a cart full of items.

Burman Browning man loaded up his cart at a Land O' Lakes Walmart, then walked out without paying for the items. But it was not until he returned to the same store two days later that he was caught, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

According to a complaint affidavit, Browning, 34, of Lutz entered the store with an empty cart. He then selected multiple items, with a combined value of about $173, and walked out of the store on Oct. 20.

The incident was captured on a surveillance camera, however, Browning managed to leave the store with the items without paying for them, the report stated.

On Oct. 22, a loss prevention officer recognized Browning in the store and confronted him about the earlier incident.

Browning of 17408 Meadow Lane was arrested and charged with retail theft and resisting a merchant. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Tuesday in lieu of $450 bond.
