Businesses Team Up for Mother's Day Contest

Mother's Day is around the corner, and a few local businesses have teamed up to make it super special for one lucky momma.

The Makeover for Mom contest winner will receive a complete hair style, including cut and color, from Shanna Young of HairStyle Salon, a new outfit from , an airbrush tan from , makeup from Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant Annette Antinori-Hall and dinner for two at .

"We have never run this contest before, but in today's economy it makes sense to us as business owners to pool our resources to promote our respective businesses, especially since we're all part of the same community," Classy Consignment owner Suzanne Beauchaine said.

Entry forms can be picked up at any of the participating business locations. A copy also is available for . Nominations must include an essay that explains why your nominee should win the makeover. 

But don't wait too long to start drafting your essay. The deadline to enter the contest is May 1.
