Update: Car Accident Leaves Land O' Lakes Woman Dead

Update 1:24 p.m. Sept. 30: The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the 67-year-old woman who died as Patricia Ann Flanagan of Land O' Lakes.

A 67-year-old Land O' Lakes woman died after she was involved in a three-car accident on U.S. Highway 41 on Saturday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Another driver, 41-year-old William Hock, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital-North with serious injuries as a result of the crash.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was headed northbound on U.S. 41 approaching Bell Lake Road driving a Jeep Cherokee, according to an FHP report. Hock was traveling in front of the Jeep in a Hyundai Genesis when he began slowing down to make a right onto Bell Lake Road. The car ahead of Hock's, a Audi A-4 driven by Jennifer Lynn Hock, was also slowing to turn right onto Bell Lake Road as well.

The Jeep Cherokee failed to slow down and as a result rear ended William Hock's car, causing him to strike Jennifer Hock's car, investigators said.

The Jeep came to a final rest in the eastbound and left turn lane of Bell Lake Road facing south. The driver died at the scene, according to a report.
