Club Mom Hosts Open House

Club Mom of Lutz/Land O' Lakes will host an open house Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the .

The event will feature refreshments, a craft and games for the kids, organizer Megan Hendricks said.

The group was founded in 2009 for stay-at-moms with young children to form a network of friends for support and to have fun together, longtime member Colleen Vinson said in a

"It's a great way to meet friends, get together and talk while the kids play," Hendricks said.

The group hosts a weekly playgroup, in addition to planning a variety of activities and outings, Hendricks said.

The group stays organized by posting events on its Meetup.com site. The online calendar, accessible to members only, lists the group's scheduled activities and allows members to R.S. V.P. online.

"We are an open, casual, flexible group," Hendricks said.

The free open house event is open to anyone interested in joining Club Mom.

The rec center also has Toddler Time during those hours, so people can check that out after they stop by the open house if they're interested, Hendricks said.
