A man was airlifted to a local hospital following a thwarted Thursday morning robbery in Wesley Chapel.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Thursday morning shooting that left an armed robbery suspect injured.
According to the sheriff’s office, a “known suspect who lives in the area” walked into the Marathon, 26556 Wesley Chapel Blvd., around 6:40 a.m. Jan. 26. Once inside, the man is accused of pointing a firearm at a clerk and demanding money.
A customer in the store, however, pulled out a gun and shot the suspect in the thigh, an email from the sheriff’s office said. The customer, who hasn’t been identified yet, had a concealed carry permit.
