Dogs Left In Hot Car While Phone Charged: Deputies

A Pasco County woman faces animal cruelty charges after a deputy found her dogs left inside a hot car on Thursday.

DADE CITY, FL β€” A Pasco County deputy’s discovery of two dogs left in a hot car Thursday afternoon led to the arrest of a Dade City woman. When questioned, authorities say she left the dogs behind while she went to charge her phone.

The case against Shirley Ann Robinson, 63, began to unfold around 3 p.m. July 6 when the deputy saw the dogs left inside a vehicle parked in the 38100 block of Willingham Drive. The vehicle’s doors were closed, an arrest report noted.

β€œThe dogs were panting and slobbering,” the report said. The deputy stuck around for about an hour until the owner arrived to let the animal out. The temperature outside at the time was 96 degrees, the report added.
