FEMA Agents Canvassing Pasco Door-To-Door
Pasco County reminded residents to be wary of scam artists masking as official agents during Hurricane Irma relief efforts.

LAND Oβ LAKES, FL β Pasco County is looking to get the word out to its residents that post-Hurricane Irma help is on its way, even right to their front doors. However, Pasco County officials also are putting the word out to make sure the people who appear are who they say they are.
Pasco County Emergency Management said that Federal Emergency Management Agency workers are canvassing the county to encourage residents to sign up for federal assistance. FEMA staff carry official identification and will provide contact information for verification.
Emergency Management representatives reiterated that federal, state and county government employees will not approach residents at their homes for cash payments. There is no fee to apply for or to receive disaster assistance from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration or the State of Florida, according to Pasco County Emergency Management.
