It’s No Trick: Adoption Fees Waived at Pasco County Animal Services
Due to overcrowding, the shelter is treating Pasco County residents to this one-day event.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – Pasco County Animal Services has reached critical overcrowding at its animal shelter that its reaching out to the community to help find homes immediately for many of its dogs and cats.
PCAS will host its No Tricks, Just Treats pet adoption event on Saturday, Oct. 29 at its shelter at 1964 Dogpatch Lane in Land O’ Lakes. People who donate a bag of cat or dog treats will have adoption fees waived. Costumes are also encouraged for the Halloween-themed event.
Due to several recent hoarding cases and numerous strays being brought in there are more than 200 dogs and cats at the shelter. PCAS is also asking residents to check the shelter if they have pets that are missing to help ease the shelter population. Also, PCAS is requesting for people to pass on the message of the free adoption event to people who may be able to help adopt one of the sheltered animals.

PCAS is a Save 90 shelter, which means it strives to find good homes for adoptable animals and not euthanize them for space. With the increase in population and too few adoptions or rescue pulls, the organization may not have an alternative to euthanasia, according to PCAS.
