Land O’ Lakes High School to Host International Baccalaureate Community Information Nights

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – Parents and guardians of area eighth graders who are interested in a more advanced course of work in high school can learn more about the Land O’ Lakes High School International Baccalaureate Programme in one of three sessions.

The program is hosting the sessions for prospective applicants seeking ninth-grade admission in the 2016-17 school year. Parents and guardians of current eighth grade public, charter and private school students are invited to attend one of the following sessions:

• Monday, Nov. 7, 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Land O’ Lakes High School Mini-Theater, 20325 Gator Lane, Land O’ Lakes
• Monday, Nov. 14, 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Dr. John Long Middle School cafeteria, 2025 Mansfield Blvd., Wesley Chapel
• Thursday, Nov. 17, 6:30 to 8 p.m.: T.E. Weightman Middle School cafeteria, 30649 Wells Road, Wesley Chapel

Families of students in other grades are also invited to attend.

At the sessions, participants will hear about the 18-year history of the Land O’ Lakes High School Pre-IB and IB students and the achievement of its students. Also, presenters will detail the application process for current eighth-grade students wishing to join next year’s incoming ninth-grade class.

“The International Baccalaureate Programme at Land O’ Lakes High School has a legacy of excellence in rigorous academics that prepares students for university and graduate studies, as well as careers in vital fields such as medicine, law, education, engineering, green energy, international commerce, public service and diplomacy,” said Jeff Morgenstein, the IB coordinator at the school. “Our IB students are local, national and global leaders today and for the future.”
