Land O’ Lakes Man, 44, Dies After DUI Crash

A Tampa woman has been charged in a crash that resulted in a Land O' Lakes man's Saturday death.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — A 24-year-old Tampa woman faces DUI manslaughter charges following a Friday night crash on U.S. 41 that claimed the life of a Land O’ Lakes man.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Hannah Michele Patrick was heading northbound in the left turn lane of U.S. 41, approaching Morgan Road, around 5:50 p.m. April 7. At that time, Zachary Scott Kane, 44, of Land O’ Lakes was driving south in the center lane on a Honda Shadow. Troopers say Diane Farmer, 69, of Tampa was also stopped northbound in the left turn lane at Morgan Road.

Patrick, a highway patrol report said, failed to yield and started to make a U-turn in her Kia Spectra. The vehicle drove into the path of Kane's motorcycle, the report noted. After striking the motorcycle, troopers say Patrick’s car hit the curb, was redirected and struck Farmer’s Chevrolet Impala.
