Update: Name of Man Killed in Tampa Motorcycle Crash Released
A 31-year-old Land O' Lakes man was killed in a Wednesday morning crash on Hillsborough Avenue.

TAMPA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal Wednesday morning crash in Tampa involving two Land O’ Lakes residents.
According to the agency, Tony Lee Hall Jr., 31, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle west on Hillsborough Avenue at North 56th Street at 6:20 a.m. Nov. 30. At that time, a Toyota Tundra, driven by Juan Carlos Mejia, was heading south on 56th Street in the inside lane at Hillsborough.
Troopers say the motorcycle drove into the intersection and into the path of Mejia’s truck. Hall was operating “under a red traffic signal,” a highway patrol report said.

The two vehicles collided, troopers said, and Hall was thrown from his bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mejia suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. The report noted Hall was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
