Local Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Losing Control of Her Car

A driver was taken by Bayflight to St. Joseph's Hosptial after losing control of her car on Camp Indianhead Road in Land O' Lakes early Tuesday morning, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

Kelly Suann Young, 30, of Land O' Lakes lost control of her 1993 Cheverolet Camaro at about 1:35 a.m. after accelerating rapidily, the release stated.

Young's vehicle struck an overgrowth of vines and small trees, then continued through the overgrowth and into the yard of a home at 21202 Camp Indianhead Road. The left side of Young's car struck a large tree before rotating and coming to a stop about 15 feet from the tree,  according to the report.  

The incident remains under investigation. Charges are pending, the FHP release stated.
