Man Stole Fishing Line, Hid it in His 'Crotch,' Deputies Say

He was on felony probation at the time.

A Tampa man walked into Walmart in Land O' Lakes, then left the store in handcuffs, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

His crime: Stealing two packs of Fireline fishing line.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, Mathew Dee Jenkins, 23, removed the fishing line from the shelf and concealed it "near his crotch region."

Jenkins, who was on felony probation for grand theft, also had spice on him, and stated that he had smoked the synthetic drug, according to the report.

He also was not supposed to travel outside of Hillsborough County, the report stated.

Jenkins was arrested and charged with shoplifting and violation of parole. He is being held without bond at the Land O' Lakes jail.
