McDonald’s Drive-Thru Crash Leads To Arrest

A 59-year-old Land O' Lakes woman faces charges after a Tuesday night crash at McDonald's.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL β€” A fender-bender in the drive-thru at a Land O’ Lakes McDonald’s Tuesday night led to a 59-year-old woman’s arrest. That's because Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the woman took off from the scene in her Hyundai Sonata.

The incident that led to Leslie Anne Withers’ April 11 arrest began to unfold around 6:50 p.m. in the 8000 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. McDonald’s line. Troopers say Danah Wagner, 38, and her 2-year-old daughter were stopped in the drive-thru lane at that time. Withers is accused of coming up behind Wagner’s Nissan Murano and striking it in the rear with her Sonata.

After the crash, Wagner and Withers spoke with each other, a report from the patrol noted. Withers, however, is accused of taking off from the scene right after.

Withers was arrested at her home on a count of leaving the scene of a crash. She was also charged with careless driving. Withers was booked into the Pasco County Jail Tuesday night and was later released in lieu of $250 bond, jail records indicate.
