A proposed light at Bell Lake Road and Collier Parkway is still being investigated, Reck said.
In previous studies by the county, βThe intersection failed to meet any of the eleven warrants for signalization,β Reck said.
Florida law requires that all traffic control devices conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The signal warrants in the manual are developed by the Federal Highway Administration, he said.
However, the county is conducting a new study to determine if the intersection now meets those warrants, Reck said.
The project consultant already has been authorized to include both a right turn lane and the traffic signal at Bell Lake in the design process, ahead of the warrant study, Widman said.
The warrant study should be completed within 30 days, Reck said.
