A parent meeting to share information about the proposed boundary for Cypress Creek High School is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. in the Wesley Chapel High School cafeteria, 30651 Wells Road.

During the meeting, staff will review the boundary process and discuss the factors that contributed to the recommended boundary changes. Parent feedback will be accepted at that time.

Feedback received at the parent meeting will be considered at a third boundary committee meeting, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2 before making a recommendation to the school board to approve new boundaries. The board-approved boundaries will take effect with the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.

Students who will be 12th graders at Wesley Chapel and Wiregrass Ranch in 2017-18 will remain at those schools. Also, the current proposals call for a four-year phase-in of 675 students who currently live in Sunlake’s boundary. Only students in 9th grade within those lines will go to Cypress Creek in 2017-18. Students within those lines entering 10th through 12th grade next year will stay at Sunlake. The following year, 9th and 10th graders will attend Cypres Creek. In 2019 Cypress Creek will add 11th grade and in 2020, the 12th grade will be added.

The principals for Bexley Elementary and Cypress Creek High will be named in December and will begin work at the schools in February.
