Land O' Lakes Man Receives Heavy Prison Sentence For Threatening Child To Make Sex Videos

LAND O' LAKES, FL — A 27-year-old Land O' Lakes man has been sentenced to 52 years in federal prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release after pleading guilty to threatening a child into making child sex videos.

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Mizelle sentenced Michael Lumpkin on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty on Oct. 3.

According to court documents, beginning around July 2019 through February 2020, Lumpkin coerced a child into creating videos of the child having sex.

The FBI said he threatened to expose the child on "Pornhub," a leading online adult entertainment platform, if the child didn't send him the requested sexually explicit videos.

Investigators also said Lumpkin possessed images and videos on his cellphone of children being sexually abused, including children under the age of 12.

“The defendant’s victim lived in constant fear, enduring a barrage of brutal threats. I commend the tireless work of our special agents and task force officers who have made sure this dangerous individual goes to prison so he can no longer harm anyone else,” said FBI Tampa Division Special Agent in Charge David Walker.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
