Pasco Man Shot Wife’s Laptop: Deputies Say

A Tuesday domestic dispute took an unusual turn when Pasco deputies say a man fired a round at his wife's laptop.

DADE CITY, FL β€” A 49-year-old Dade City man faces criminal charges after Pasco County sheriff’s deputies say he opened fire on his wife’s laptop.

The incident that led to Cyrus Brigante’s Jan. 3 arrest unfolded around 9 p.m. at a home in the 37800 block of Terrace Way. Deputies say Brigante and his wife, Karen, got into an argument around that time that continued to escalate.

At one point during the fight, deputies say Cyrus Brigante retrieved a loaded .22 caliber revolver and threatened to blow his wife’s β€œbrains out.”

Instead of shooting his wife, deputies say Cyrus pointed the gun at a laptop that was sitting on a bed next to her. He then fired one round into the computer before Karen Brigante fled her home, an arrest report said.

Cyrus Brigante admitted after his arrest that he shot the laptop, the arrest report noted. He was charged with domestic aggravated assault and throw/shoot deadly missing into an occupied dwelling.

Brigante was booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail Tuesday night.
