Pasco Won’t Accept Fresh Curbside Vegetation

Pasco County is reminding residents that curbside vegetation pickup is for Hurricane Irma debris only.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL – While Hurricane Irma debris pickup in Pasco County is moving right along, Pasco County is receiving reports that fresh vegetation is being placed on curbsides.

The Pasco County Solid Waste Department and its contractors have completed hurricane related-debris pickup in five out of the county’s 16 removal zones. However, Pasco County reported receiving complaints about fresh piles of vegetation accumulating in zones where pickup has been completed.

Normally, Pasco County does not collect yard debris, but Solid Waste Department is providing the service to resident affected by Hurricane Irma. Residents can drop off both storm debris and normal yard waste at two locations Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

  • East Pasco Transfer Station, 9626 Handcart Road, Dade City
  • West Pasco Resource Recovery, 14606 Hays Road, Spring Hill

Pasco County has waived storm debris fees until further notice. Residents will be charged normal disposal fees for freshly-cut yard waste.

As of Sunday, Oct. 15., crews have collected nearly 46,000 cubic yards of storm debris in Pasco County. Residents can track Hurricane Irma-related storm debris removal progress via an interactive map at www.pascocountyfl.net.
