β€œLast year, we took in nearly 3,300 stray dogs and cats, but only 573 were returned to their homes,” said Pasco County Animal Services Director Mike Shumate. β€œWe want to get stray pets back to their owners as quickly as possible. Petco Love is a national nonprofit organization that has awarded over $300 million since 1999 to help with adoption and other lifesaving efforts.
