PHSC Events to Honor Patriots in Dade City, New Port Richey

Honor Our Patriots Event (HOPE) programs will be hosted Thursday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day.

Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) will host Honor Our Patriots Event (HOPE) programs at the East Campus in Dade City and the West Campus in New Port Richey on Thursday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day.

PHSC East Campus in Dade City, 36727 Blanton Road – 11 a.m. in A240

The HOPE program, part of the East Campus Community Awareness Series, will include a salute to the flag followed by a panel discussion that will focus on military experiences and the transition back to civilian life. The PHSC East Campus event will begin at 11 a.m. in A240. Local veteran services and resource organizations also will be in attendance. Hosted by the Student Government Association, the program is offered free of charge and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

PHSC West Campus, New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road – 10 a.m. in the Quad, R151, and Performing Arts Center

Hosted by the Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter, the HOPE program will include a U.S. Marine Corps birthday celebration and speakers and panel discussion with veterans to address how their military service assisted in transition to civilian life (11 a.m. in R151). Guests scheduled to attend include Rep. Danny Burgess; Rep. Amanda Murphy;

Mike Ciminna from Congressman Bilirakis’ office; John Motley of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA); PHSC Professors Kelvin Faison and Regina Mirabella; and RenΓ©e Delgado from the Vet Center. Also, local veterans agencies and resource organizations such as Career Source Pasco Hernando, New Port Richey Library, the Vet Center, BayCare Behavioral Health and other local veterans resources will be in attendance. Frankie’s Patriot BBQ will provide food and The Bearded Brothers Band will perform in the Performing Arts Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
