Public Meeting Set On Pasco County's Master Greenway Plan Jan. 24

PASCO COUNTY, FL β€” If you're an outdoor enthusiast, Pasco County wants to hear from you.

The Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department will host a public meeting Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for anyone interested in learning more about the Greenways, Trails and Blueways Master Plan.

The goal is to create a recreational trail plan to help guide future trail development and allow for walking, biking and paddling between parks, natural areas and neighborhoods.

Visioning, coordinated planning and a phased implementation strategy will allow for system expansion, enhancement and a sustainable quality of life for residents far into the future.

This effort is driven by requirements set forth by the Recreation and Open Space Element of the Pasco County Comprehensive Plan.

On July 12, 2022, the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners approved a task order which officially initiated planning services to develop a Greenways, Trails and Blueways Master Plan. The vision of the GTB Master Plan is to develop a countywide system of connected, recreational Greenways, Trails, and Blueways that link parks and natural areas with neighborhoods, schools, shopping and other facilities.

The meeting will be held at the Land O'Lakes Rec Complex, Activity Room 5, 3032 Collier Parkway, and will include a presentation, interactive activities and a Q&A session.

If you can't attend the meeting, you can stop by the Land O' Lakes Recreation Complex until Friday, Jan. 27, between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. to see the project display boards and submit comments.

Residents are also asked to take a 10-minute online survey, open through Friday, Feb. 17.
