Quail Hollow Shooting: Person Of Interest Sought

Pasco County deputies are asking for help locating a person of interest in a Sunday shooting at Quail Hollow golf and country club.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL β€” As the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a Sunday night shooting at Quail Hollow Golf and Country Club that left a person injured, deputies have announced a person of interest in the case.

According to the sheriff's office, Jonathan Mortume, 25, is wanted for questioning. The shooting at the 6225 Old Pasco Road country club took place in the evening hours May 14 as a large party was going on at the facility. Initial reports that two people had been shot have been clarified by the sheriff’s office.

β€œWe have one victim who received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and is being treated at an area hospital,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. β€œAnother individual received a cut to his hand from a knife in a separate incident that, preliminarily, appears to be unrelated to the shooting.”

The party had an estimated 500 guests present, the sheriff’s office said. Most attendees were from outside Pasco County.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the person shot or further information in the case. The discovery of a white Hyundai Elantra connected to the suspects was announced Monday afternoon. Detectives have not disclosed the location where the car was found.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone who recognizes the people in the photos or knows of Mortume's whereabouts to call them at 1-800-706-2488.
