Railroad Issue Closes State Road 54 Lanes

LAND O’ LAKES, FL — Motorists who use the intersection of State Road 54 and U.S. 41 to get home are likely to encounter heavy congestion Thursday afternoon.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the railroad crossing arms at State Road 54 and U.S. 41 are down. While CSX is on the way to fix the problem, it was unclear as of 4:42 p.m. June 29 how long the problem would last. The sheriff's office reported at 5:30 p.m. "that the situation remains unchanged."

In the meantime, the sheriff’s office says east- and westbound State Road 54 lanes are closed at the railroad tracks. U.S. 41 remains open.
