Rapscallions Hasn't Gone Anywhere

A few readers recently contacted Patch to ask if the popular restaurant had shut its doors for good. It hasn't.

Seafood lovers, rejoice. —a Land O' Lakes landmark—has not closed. Its hours simply have changed.

Several Patch readers have asked in the past few weeks if the popular restaurant had closed, because it appeared deserted during the day, phone calls were not answered and the website had disappeared.

The restaurant now opens at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday, owner James Morgan said.

They have changed a few menu items and are in the process of updating and reworking the website to reflect those changes, Morgan said.

Though there has been some confusion, that didn't affect the crowd at Rapscallion's for Valentine's Day.

It's the busiest night of the year, Morgan said.

As for rumors that the restaurant has been bought out by Hooters, well, there's no chance of that ever happening, Morgan said.

"There's no way I'm going to fit into those little orange shorts," he laughed.

Morgan said he's not sure where the rumor originated, but said he first got wind of it around Super Bowl weekend.

"It's a false rumor," Morgan said.

Editor's note: This story was updated at 4:06 p.m. Feb. 15 to include Morgan's comments on the Hooter's buyout rumor.
