Rock-Thrower Targets Mental Health Facilities: Deputies
Pasco County Sheriff's deputies need help identifying a woman accused of throwing rocks at two mental health facilities.
LUTZ, FL β The Pasco County Sheriffβs Office is asking for help identifying a woman its deputies say hurled large rocks at the front doors of two area mental health facilities last week.
According to the sheriffβs office, the woman was caught on surveillance cameras when she walked up to the doors at the North Tampa Behavioral Health Hospital, 29910 State Road 56, around 1:33 a.m. April 27. The woman was carrying a large rock in one of the surveillance photos released.
Deputies say the rock was ultimately thrown into the facilityβs front doors, causing damage, the sheriffβs office said.

A similar incident was also reported at the Morton Plant behavioral health facility at 21808 State Road 54 in Lutz on the same night, an email from the sheriffβs office said.

While the woman caused damage at both locations, authorities say she made no attempt to enter either building.
The woman deputies are looking for is described as weighing about 150 pounds. She has dark, medium-length hair and was wearing dark shorts and a light blue Tampa Bay Rays shirt during the rock-tossing incidents. She may wear a watch or bracelet on her right wrist, the agency reported.
In both incidents, the suspect was seen leaving in a silver Honda Element with βsome type of writing, and possibly a business logo, on the rear driver and passenger windows,β the email noted.
Anyone with information about the cases is asked to call the sheriffβs office at 1-800-706-2488. The woman faces felony charges of criminal mischief, the sheriffβs office said.
