Saint Leo Welcomes New Students For Fall Semester

The Week of Welcome gives new students the royal treatment before classes begin at the university.

SAINT LEO, FL – Even though Saint Leo University opened for classes on Tuesday, Aug. 23, the red carpet was rolled out for new students a week earlier as part of the school’s Week of Welcome.

Out of the 2,400 students enrolled at the University Campus for the 2016 fall semester, 680 freshmen and more than 140 transfer students joined the ranks of the student body on Aug. 18 during Move-In Day. When the new students arrived on campus, members of the faculty, staff and student body were on hand to unload their cars and carry their items to their dorm rooms.

The new students were also given laptop computers, identification cards and mailroom keys. Then, after lunch in the Dining Hall, the students were welcomed to the university during an afternoon ceremony in the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
