Sinkhole Road Closings Remain In Place: Sheriff
Proof of address is required to access some Lake Padgett streets after a Friday sinkhole ate two homes.

LAND Oβ LAKES, FL β The Pasco County Sheriffβs Office is asking folks to steer clear of an area of Lake Padgett where a sinkhole opened up and ate two homes Friday morning.
According to the agency, the following roads have checkpoints that require proof of address to enter:
- Cloverleaf and Pine
- Grove and Pine
- Lake Padgett Drive and Ocean Pines Drive
The sinkhole opened up at 21855 Ocean Pines Drive Friday morning and was initially described as being about the size of a small pool. Within a short amount of time, the hole expanded and destroyed two homes. It is unclear how long the checkpoints will remain in place. The sheriff's office said the closings remained in effect shortly after 6:15 p.m. July 14.
