Teen Beaten with Crutch Taken from Bystander

A 16-year-old and his friend got into a fight with a Wesley Chapel man, who struck the teen several times with a crutch.

A Wesley Chapel man was arrested over the weekend and accused of beating a 16-year-old with an aluminum crutch until it broke.

While riding in his friend’s vehicle, the teen started an argument with Michael David Feltner, 38, near the intersection of State Road 52 and Bellamy Bros, in the area of the Neon Cowboy bar in Dade City, according to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Feltner ordered the 16-year-old out the car, and the teenager complied. As Feltner approached the teenager, he was confronted by the teenager’s friend. Feltner and the friend got into a fight.

The 16-year-old tried to put the altercation to an end, and Feltner tried to grab him but failed.

Feltner then grabbed an aluminum crutch from a nearby female and struck the 16-year old with it several times until it broke in half, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 16-year-old punched Feltner in the head and face several times, and Feltner put him in a headlock.  The struggle continued for a brief time until patrons of the Neon Cowboy broke up the fight.

Feltner of 4139 Constantine Loop in Wesley Chapel was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated child abuse. He was released  from the Land O' Lakes jail Tuesday on $10,000 bond.
