Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Charges

The vehicle's speed caught the attention of a Pasco deputy, but it was the smell coming from the car that landed its passenger in jail on felony drug charges.

According to an arrest report, when the deputy stopped a silver Toyota on Rolling View Court, there was a strong smell of fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked if they had any drugs in their possession, Darryn George Senoga-Zake, 19,  pulled a small bag from his pocket and gave it to the deputy.

A search of the vehicle turned up a small bag in the passenger door panel, a "rolled blunt in plain view," and three sandwich-size bags, which field-tested positive for marijuana, the report stated.

Senoga-Zake was placed under arrest and during a pat search, the deputy found $3,223 in his pocket, "folded in half and wrapped with a rubber band, which is common among narcotic sales," the report stated.

Post-Miranda, Senoga-Zake told the deputy that he was "depositing the money for his momma." He also said the blunt and small baggie were his, but the large bags were not.

A total of 76 grams of marijuana was confiscated from the vehicle, according to the report.

Senoga-Zake of 24702 Volterra Court in Lutz was arrested Sept. 28 and charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He was released from the Land O’ Lakes jail later that day on $5,000 bond.
