Wild Game Night

Here’s a chance for guys to gather for a β€œwild” night ofΒ fun.

The Brandon Rotary Club will host its 38th annualΒ Wild Game Night Friday, April 25th starting at 6 p.m. at Lupton’s Boggy BottomΒ Ranch, a wooded outdoor event venue located at 8407 Lupton Place off KeysvilleΒ Road in Plant City.

Each year, the guys-only fundraiser attracts men throughout the Bay area eager to sample a variety of expertly prepared wild game, which hasΒ included venison, quail and wild hog as well as domestic fare like pork ribsΒ and catfish. Authentic Ybor City cigars will be rolled on-site for those who wantΒ to purchase one to go along with a drink from the open bar stocked with top-shelf liquors.

As in past years, a highlight of the evening is the chanceΒ to win thousands of dollars’ worth of items through silent auctions, raffle andΒ door prizes. InΒ the past, prizes included rifles, shotguns, televisions, guidedΒ fishing trips, camping, hunting and fishing gear.

β€œThis is a great opportunity for fathers and sons to enjoy aΒ night out together while helping local charities at the same time,” said Wild Game Night chairman David West.

West said many men attend Wild Game Night year after yearΒ because it offers a rare chance to get together with friends they haven’t seenΒ in years. Many a friendship has been rekindled by meeting a long-lost friend atΒ this event. There are even rumors that this event has helped close many aΒ business transaction as well.

All proceeds from Wild Game Night are donated to localΒ charities including Rotary’s Camp Florida, the Brandon Outreach Clinic and theΒ Emergency Care Help Organization, which provides food and clothing to eastΒ Hillsborough County residents with emergency needs. In past years, the eventΒ has raised $40,000 to $50,000 for local charities.

Donations for tickets are $75 and are available from anyΒ Brandon Rotary Club member or by calling Dave West at 813-927-7174 or PatΒ Skidmore at 813-741-3790.
