Woman Dies After Golf Cart Incident

Erika Susan Robinson died in the hospital after she was thrown from a golf cart as it turned into Lake Padgett Estates East Bath and Racquet Club.

A Land O’ Lakes woman died after she was thrown from a golf cart overnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The golf cart, a 1992 Club Car, was traveling south on Sheffield Road at 9:55 p.m. Saturday toward the intersection of Sheffield and St. George Place, according to FHP troopers. As the cart neared the intersection, it attempted to turn left into the north driveway to the Lake Padgett Estates East Bath and Racquet Club.

As the cart turned,  Erika Susan Robinson, who was sitting in the front right passenger seat, was ejected from the vehicle onto the roadway. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she later died. She was 27.

The cart was driven by Nathaniel N. Williams, 28, also of Land O' Lakes. The incident is still under investigation. Determination of whether it was alcohol-related is pending.
