Woman Stole Clothes From Neighbor, Deputies Say

A Land O' Lakes woman is accused of breaking into a neighbor's home Monday and swiping clothes.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL β€” A 29-year-old Land O’ Lakes woman faces criminal charges after Pasco County deputies say she broke into a neighbor’s home Monday afternoon and helped herself to some clothes.

The incident that led to Lena Pettigrew’s arrest occurred just before 1 p.m. Dec. 19 in the 21000 block of Little Lake Thomas Road. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called out after the victim discovered her home had been broken into.

Pettigrew is accused of breaking a window on the north side of her neighbor’s home and going inside. She then β€œwalked into the victim’s bedroom … (and) took some baby clothes, blankets, and all of the female clothing in the closet,” an arrest report said.

The home, the sheriff’s office noted in an email to media, was under renovation at the time of the break-in.

Deputies say their investigation led them to Pettigrew as a suspect. When deputies confronted her, β€œLena admitted to the burglary and returned the items,” the email said.

Pettigrew was charged with residential burglary and booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail Monday afternoon.
