A 13-year-old student was arrested after making a threat of a shooting at Osceola Middle School, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
SEMINOLE, FL — A 13-year-old boy was arrested after making a threat of a shooting at a Seminole-area middle school, according to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The teen was charged with making written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting at Osceola Middle School.
While PCSO has named the student, it’s Patch’s policy not to name those in the juvenile justice system. It’s not clear whether he is being charged as a juvenile or an adult, though he was initially booked into the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.

The teen sent text messages to another student about a shooting that would take place at the school. In the texts, he also spoke about another student who was “harassing” him, the sheriff’s office said.
The parents of the student who received the messages contacted law enforcement.
