Commissioners Pick Up Trash to 'Keep Largo Beautiful'

Four commissioners banded together to form Keep Largo Beautiful, an informal group that cleans up trash in different parts of the city.

Yes, that was Largo Commissioners Curtis Holmes, Michael Smith and Jamie Robinson picking up trash along Rosery Road the other week.

The group, along with commissioner Woody Brown, recently banded together to clean up Largo, creating a group called "Keep Largo Beautiful."

"We Commissioners have decided to start walking around various locations in Largo picking up trash on the streets,” according to the "about us" section on the Keep Largo Beautiful Facebook page. “This will give us a chance to meet and talk with citizens and friends that care about Largo's image, and to help clean up the environment.”

Resident and non-residents can help. The group lists upcoming events on the page.

The next cleanup is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, downtown. Park near West Bay Drive between Karen's Corner and Main Street Chiropractic, 520 West Bay Dr.
