Downtown Largo Merchants Association To Meet Wednesday
The newly formed organization will have its first official meeting at Salon 314 on West Bay Drive. All Largo merchants are welcome.
The Downtown Largo Merchants Association will have its first official meeting on Wednesday evening, and according to organizer Tanya Pistillo, all local business owners are welcome.
Despite the title of the group Pistillo, owner of Wandering Star Gallery, does not want to exclude merchants who are located outside of the downtown district.
"Any Largo merchant is welcome, not just those located downtown," Pistillo told Patch. "We don't want to make people outside of downtown feel gypped."

"I'm trying to reach out and build up the love for Largo, and that extends beyond West Bay," she added. "There are a lot of cool things going on outside of the downtown district."
Pistillo, who has been instrumental in attempting to revitalize the downtown area as well as the rest of her hometown, said this is the perfect time for business owners to join the association.

The meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Salon 314, will address important organization issues such as membership fees, logo designs and fund-raising ideas.
"This meeting will help form the foundation of the organization," Pistillo said.
One of the fundraisers that has already been implemented by the organization, the DLMA Sidewalk Sale, will take place again this weekend.
The first sale last month was hailed a success by vendors and patrons, but Pistillo said she could use more support.
"I'd like to fill the entire street from Missouri Avenue to Clearwater Largo Road," she said. "We have some people signed up, but we need more."
