Driver Sought in Fatal Seminole Hit-and-Run

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday on Park Boulevard, where a man crossing the street was struck and later died.

Deputies are still seeking the public's help in finding a vehicle and driver who may be responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident in Seminole over the weekend.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday on Park Boulevard, just east of 110th Lane in Seminole, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports.

The victim was crossing Park Boulevard but not at an intersection or in a crosswalk, authorities said. That's when a car reportedly struck him and fled the scene, headed westbound.

While still in the roadway, the victim was then struck by a silver Honda Civic, whose driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The victim, who has not yet been identified pending notification of his next of kin, was treated at the scene and then brought to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the sheriff's office reports.

Authorities say the vehicle that fled the scene is a small, dark gray sedan of an unknown make and a late 1990s to early 2000s model. One of the car's headlights were out.

The driver is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s with dark,  short hair. He was seen wearing a horizontally striped polo-style shirt with a collar and blue jeans, officials said. He was last seen heading westbound on Park Boulevard from 121st Street North.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Keith Williams at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 727-582-6200.
