Largo Child Porn Investigation Nets Arrest
Largo Police have announced the arrest of a 34-year-old Clearwater man on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

LARGO, FL β A 34-year-old Clearwater man faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation kicked off by Largo Police back in November.
According to the police department, Det. L. Wagoner received information in November that child pornography was possibly being traded online from a home in the 1900 block of Cove Lane, which is within the department's jurisdiction. Wagonerβs investigation resulted in a search warrant being issued. That warrant was served Thursday morning, Dec. 22, around 5:45 a.m., an email from police said.
Resident Lawrence Michael Newton was brought into custody after the warrant was served. While he currently faces 10 counts of possession, police say a forensic investigation of Newtonβs computers remains active with additional charges pending the outcome.

Police say two other adults and three children were located in the home with Newton. βCurrently, the investigation does not indicate any abuse was occurring inside the residence.β
Newton had not yet been booked into the Pinellas County Jail late Thursday morning.
